Marshall Hammond, 81 of Evansville, passed away at 6:45 am, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Marshall Hammond was born October 28, 1932 the son of King and Lucy (Curtis) Hammond in Cadiz, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army and he retired in 1988 from Deig Brothers as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local #181. Marshall was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. He was involved in numerous bowling leagues and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann (Finley) Hammond of 62 years of Evansville; daughter, Jann Hammond of Evansville; son, John Hammond (Melinda) of Newburgh; sister, Diana Gyurkovitz of Hopkinsville, KY and grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, and Allie Hammond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold Dean Cavanah and Marcellus Hammond.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend Mitch Gieselman officiating. Private Burial will be in East End Cemetery in Cadiz, Kentucky.
Friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
