Mary M. (Marcella) Poellein Obituary
Mary M. (Marcella) Poellein
Boonville, Ind.
Marcella was born on October 2nd, 1919 to Rufus and Ella Bilderback. She went to heaven on February 16th at the age of 93 to be with her husband of 65 years, Rowland.
Marcella married her high school sweetheart in l940 after he had finished his business degree at Indiana University. They eventually settled back in Boonville to manage the Western Auto Store, a family owned business. She was in charge of the annual Christmas toy department in the basement of the store. This was always a very special time at the store and also in the Poellein home.
Family was her focus and she was always there for her children and even their friends, whom many fondly called her Marshmella. Her house was a go-to place when growing up. Her sense of humor was fun to be around.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were extremely special to her. She supported them in as many of their activities as she could. They also enjoyed many of the traditions that she started, especially her Valentines Day sugar cookies.
She was a lifelong active member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville and the Women's Guild.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Rowland in May of 2006 and sisters, Mildred Rathgaber and Betty Bilderback.
She is survived by son Ron and wife Barb, and a daughter Sheila of Boonville. Also surviving are grandson Todd, wife Kelly, and great-grandson Drew of Cincinnati and grandson Erik wife Kelly and great-granddaughter Morgan of Newburgh.
