Melvin R. Titzer
Evansville, Indiana
Melvin R. Titzer, 87 of Evansville, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Home. He was born February 14, 1926 to Charles and Mary Ellen (Welte) Titzer.
Melvin was a lifelong farmer in both Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties. He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church of Daylight. Melvin was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of VFW Post 1114.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Dennis and Patrick Titzer; brother, Floyd Titzer and sister, Lucille Cameron.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnn Titzer; sons, David A. (Pam) and Daniel J. Titzer (Cathy) all of Evansville; daughters, Amelia DeMello (Butch) of Newburgh and Lori A. Hurt (Kevin) of Evansville; grandchildren, Allison and Dana Jo Titzer, Stephen and Mark Hurt and Ashley DeMello; sister, Charlene Lamey of Haubstadt.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 10 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Daylight, 5301 Daylight Dr., Evansville, IN 47725.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at the church, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery Daylight.
