Michael Leon Carter, age 56, of Wadesville, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Carter had worked for Sign Crafters for over 35 years as a union sheet metal worker. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #20. Mike was a Catholic and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.
Surviving Mike are his wife, Michelle (Johnson) Carter; three sons, Christopher (Jodi) Carter of Evansville, Nicholas (Jennifer) Carter of Elberfeld and Justin (Casondria) Carter of Evansville; his mother, Gloria Carter of Evansville; two stepdaughters, Danielle (Derek) Maggard of Griffin, IN and Savannah Baird of Wadesville; his sister, Kimberly Johnston of Evansville; brother, Mark Allen Carter of Evansville and grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Lillian and Caynen Carter, Lailah "Butterfly" Carter and Makali Carter.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Pete" Carter in 1999; by a sister, Annetta Carter; brother, David Carter and by the mother of his children, Jacqueline Carter.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
