Pauline Berman, 98, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013, at her home. Born in New Haven, Conn., and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the third of five children of the late Sam and Bessie Dorfman. Pauline often cited lessons from her mother that family was a precious gift that should always be cherished.
Pauline was married to the late Herman Berman for 51 years. Herman and his brother, Louis co-owned L. Berman and Company, which they sold to Zenith Corporation in 1970.
Pauline's greatest interests were golf, civic activities and her family. Even though she was from the East Coast, Pauline loved all of the 61 years she lived in Evansville. She was a member of the Kennel Club and Petroleum Club. She had been a member of Clearcrest Country Club, Rolling Hills Country Club and Evansville Country Club. Pauline was active in Washington Avenue Temple prior to its merge into Adath B'nai Temple, serving as Treasurer of the Sisterhood. She was also active in Hadassah.
Pauline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jeff Radov, of Scarsdale, N. Y.; three grandchildren, Sarah, Lucas and Joanna; and a sister-in-law, Ann Grimes.
