Ralph Boberg
Evansville, Ind.
Ralph F. Boberg, 81, of Evansville, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Boberg was born August 15, 1930, to the late, Fred and Lorena (Esche) Boberg in Posey County, Ind. He had worked as an operating engineer at Bernardin Bottle Cap and later Deig Brothers Construction before his retirement in 1992. Ralph was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ on Ford Road and had volunteered at United Caring Shelter. He was a veteran of the United States Army 11th Airborne Division and was a member of the American Legion Post #5 in Mount Vernon, VFW Post #6576 in Wadesville and Owl's Nest 30.
Surviving Ralph are his wife of 60 years, Marian E. (Moesner) Boberg; a daughter, Cheryl Grossman, of Evansville; a sister, Anita Roettger, of Evansville; three brothers, Earl and William Boberg, both of Evansville and John Boberg, of Mount Vernon; two granddaughters, Amanda Coghill and Lauren Grossman, both of Evansville; and a great-grandson, Mayson Coghill.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Leroy Boberg.
Funeral services for Ralph will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Douglas Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Evansville, IN 47712.
