Robert A. Kniffen, 87 of Evansville, IN passed away at 4:37 pm, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Robert was born August 3, 1926 in Bell Rive, IL the son of the late Louis and Mayme (Keef) Kniffen. He attended Fair Haven Christ Fellowship. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII and a member of VFW Post # 1114. He was employed as a district manager for car washing businesses.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary Lee (Thompson) Kniffen of Boonville, IN, daughters, Sandra Lamb (Charles "Dude") of Evansville, Cheryl Anderson (Don) of Livonia, MI and Connie Betz of Whitaker, MI, step children, Becky Buxton (Brent) of Boonville, IN, Charles "Mike" Douglas (Kathy) of Owensville, IN and Daniel Douglas (Carole) of Evansville, sister, Mary Baker of Mt. Vernon, IL, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Debra Kniffen and brother, Orley Kniffen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Mike Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel and again from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Friday.
