Roger Lee Cocke
63, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital.
Roger attended Benton High School. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1971 - 1973, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Roger worked for Peabody Coal Company for 23 years and finished his career at r.s.c.\ComScore through TFM, Inc.. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Roger was a "jack of all trades" able to weld, wood work, and anything else that need to be completed.
He was a wonderful and dedicated husband, dad, grandfather, and friend who put the needs of everyone ahead of his own.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marilin (Little) Cocke, daughters Tammy Cocke (Derek), Leslie Cocke (Doug), Shannon (Mike) Hoffman, sons Mitch Mitchell (Penny) and Chris (Rose) Chitwood, grandchildren Andrew (Dana) Mitchell, Jennifer (Casey) Sabaleski, Jacob Hoffman, Taron Cocke, Jimmy Chitwood and Joey Chitwood, great grandchildren Aly and Levi, brothers Dwain Cocke, Kelly Cocke, and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruth Cocke, brothers, Steve Cocke, and Rodney Cocke, and granddaughter, Karsyn Jones.
Private services will be held at a later date.
