Ruth Catherine (Wagner) Wilhite, 87, of Evansville passed away Tuesday December 10,2013 at Good Samaritan Home. She was born October 24, 1926 in Evansville to Oscar and Elisabeth (Bradley) Wagner.
Ruth was a long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil Wilhite: daughters, Denise Ann Frederick and Tammy Marie Wilhite; grandson, Scotty Frederick; sisters, Rose Sitzman, Clara Davidson and Dorothy Boots and brothers, Russell and Ray Wagner.
She is survived by her son, Danny Wilhite (Joan Little) of Evansville; daughters, Francine McCann (Jim) of Petersburg and Catherine Jo Kellems of Evansville; grandchildren, Michelle Wilson, Todd McCann, Tonya Snipes, Marcy and Bronson Wilhite, Ronnie Wilhite, Jennifer Evans, Jason Frederick, Candy Sue Ingram, April Frederick, Martez Vaughn, Leila Johnson, and Bud Johnson; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Saturday December 14, 2013 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with the funeral service to follow.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Miss and love you Grandma Ruth. She had the biggest heart. She's with her loved ones looking over us all. The most amazing,caring,and loving woman I had the pleasure to know.

My sympathy to the whole family. Our family lived a block from yours when you lived on Boeke Rd. Your Mom always had a cold drink and food for us. I thought she was a great mother. I was a close friend of Cathy's.

Although through the years i grew apart from Grandma Ruth she was always in my thoughts. It saddens me to have lost her but she is now with loved ones up above and in a much better place. Love you dearly grandma.

Dear family, I remember Ruth and "Buddy" as we called your Dad. We lived in an apt building called "Noahs Ark" on Eichel Ave This was in the late 40's I loved talking to Ruth I was 13 yrs old She was so nice to me We were a family of five kids.our Mother died when I was 7 Ruth did many quiet times with me.
