Steven Lee Nicholson, DDS, 62, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence.
Steve was born March 2, 1951 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Robert L. and Lois (Archer) Nicholson. He married Diane Wininger on August 5, 1972 and she survives.
He graduated from Springs Valley High School in 1969, Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelors Degree in Zoology in 1973 and the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1978. He was self employed at Steven L. Nicholson, DDS, PC in Jasper.
He was a member of the Indiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, First District Dental Society where he had served as a past president, the Dubois County Community Foundation, the Holland Kiwanis Club and the NRA. He was an avid golfer, hunter and loved piddling in the outdoors. He a fan of IU Basketball and Bobby Knight. He also loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He placed thousands of smiles on faces all over the area.
He is survived by his mother, Lois Nicholson of Cuzco, wife, Diane Nicholson of Huntingburg, son, Jason Ryan (Lisa) Nicholson of Huntingburg, daughters, Tessa Carol (Jack) Neukam of Huntingburg and Sarah Diane Nicholson of Jeffersonville, and grandchildren, Kyler Daniel, Kaden Lee and Kamren Robert Neukam and Jax Ryan and Ilie Diane Nicholson. He is also survived by his brother, Barry Nicholson of Cuzco.
Preceding him in death was his father, Robert Leroy Nicholson.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Christian Church of Jasper, 1450 Energy Drive, Jasper, Indiana, with Rev. David Darling officiating. Entombment will be in the Cuzco Cemetery, Cuzco, Indiana at a later date. Friends may call at Christian Church of Jasper from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2013 and again on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 9:00 AM until the service time. T.L. Pinnick Mortuary, 785 South Bears Bend Road, French Lick are in charge of arrangements.
