Thomas Hodge, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 5:12 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at St. Anthony's Lucy Smith King Care Center, Henderson, Ky. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by one daughter Margaret Waller Hodge, parents William and Elizabeth Hodge, brother William G. Hodge, and sister Elizabeth Hodge King. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, and trustee; he was also a member of the Henderson Rotary Club. In his younger days, he was an avid golfer and tennis player. His primary interest focused on his family and home. Mr. Hodge was a graduate of Episcopal High School in Arlington, VA and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in commerce from the University of Virginia. He served in the Army for 3 ? years in both the European and Pacific theatres. He joined the family business and served as President of Hodge Tobacco Company located in Owensboro, Ky and Kingsville, Ontario. Following the dissolution of the tobacco business in the early 1970's, Mr. Hodge became a stock broker at Hilliard Lyons where he enjoyed working for over 20 years. Survivors include: Wife: Martha Dorsey Hodge Henderson, KY Children: Glenn Hodge Ridley and husband Dorsey Ridley Henderson, KY Ann Hodge Curtis and husband Tom Curtis Nashville, TN Thomas Dorsey Hodge and wife Ann Solomon HodgeDuluth, MN John Paton Hodge and wife Ann Scheiman Hodge Henderson, KY Janet Hodge Warner and husband Drew Warner Indianapolis, IN Keith A. Hodge and wife Carla Hodge 23 Grandchildren Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Presbyterian Church, Henderson, KY. Rev. David Latham will officiate. Friends may call from 3:00 to 5:30 PM on Wednesday and from 10:00 Am until service time on Thursday at Presbyterian Church, Henderson, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: St. Anthony's Hospice or the Presbyterian Church both of Henderson, KY.
