Victor C. Simon, 82, Evansville passed away at 5 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center.
Victor was born September 26, 1930 in Evansville to son of Victor, Sr. and Ella (Lomax) Simon. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. Victor was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Cathedral. He worked as a supervisor and trainer for the U.S. Postal Service. Victor was a member of Clear Crest Golf Club and Eagles Men's Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Monzell (Steele) Simon of Evansville, children, Victor H. Simon of Dallas, TX, Stacy J. Simon (Susan) of Newburgh, Lisa M, Lockhart (Darrel) of Chandler, Vincent J. Simon of Newburgh and Scheleen Unfried (Greg) and Tayscha Dunbar (David), all of Evansville, grandchildren, Rachel, Melanie, Brandon, Sean, Ethan, Vincent, Laura, Alexa, Ian, Connor, Kaden, Bailey and Sydney and great granddaughter, Alyiah. He was preceded in death by his first wife, O. Marie Simon and sister, Hetty Bill.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, March 18, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will perform full military rites.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, where a Rosary Service will be held at 3 pm.
