Warren Miller, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home.
Warren was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 6, 1934 to the late Paul E. and Irene (Hudson) Miller. He served in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years, worked in the family business, Miller Electroplating for 20 years, School Bus Driver for 8 years and drove the Evansville City Bus for 3 years. Warren was an avid swimmer, he was the Waterfront Director at Camp Carson from 1941 until he went to college in 1952. While serving in the military, Warren and Marion enjoyed camping throughout 48 states. Warren loved animals, before he became sick, he would feed the neighborhood cats and dogs everyday. He started writing for the monthly "Forked Tongue" newspaper 31 years ago and ended up writing the "Ghost of the Forked Tongue" up until 3 months ago.
Warren is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marion A. Miller of Evansville, IN, daughter, Suzanne (John) Scott of South Carrollton, KY, sons, Stephen (Mary) Miller of Providence, KY, Paul Miller of Davenport, FL and W. David (Nyla) Miller Jr. of Bowling Green, KY; brother, Howard V. Miller of Cincinnati, OH; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Warren was preceded in death by his brothers, R. Glen Miller and Gene Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711, followed by military rites, conducted by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
