William Paul Daywalt
Chandler, Ind.
William Paul Daywalt, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at VNA Charlier Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 29, 1932, to the late Albert and Grace Lerche Daywalt, in Evansville, Ind.
He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, in Kansas, where he met his future wife Vivian Lenherr.
He retired from ALCOA in l993, after 27 years of service.
Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing and walking his little dog, Ellie.
His passion was family and he taught all of us the meaning of unconditional love.
Many will cherish their memories of Bill, expecially his wife of nearly 58 years, Vivian; and their children, Joseph Daywalt, of Chandler, Diane (Mark) Floyd, of Evansville, Michelle (Tom) Childers, of Fort Wayne, and Chrisopher Daywalt, of Los Angeles, Calif.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Daywalt; and sister, Alberta Morris.
He was the proud grandfather of Evan, Thomas, Chelsea, Caleb and Chad Childers and Steven Inverso; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kylie and Keric. Other survivors include his devoted brothers and sisters, Walter Daywalt, Frank (Lyle) Daywalt, Raymond (Shirley)Daywalt, Donald Daywalt, Barbara (Everett) Ludwig, Stanley (Rose Mary) Daywalt and Phyllis Jean (Harry) Plouse; and 29 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Rd., Chandler, followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler. Friends may visit 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, and from 10:30 p.m. to service time Saturday at the Koehler Perigo Chapel.
Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to VNA Charlier Hospice, the of Evansville, Evansville Blind Association or WNIN Radio Reading Service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
