Dell H. Boyle, 89, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Good Samaritan Home. She was born February 4, 1925, in Hobart, Okla., to the late James Garnet and Louise (Kinkade) Hughes.
She loved gardening, cooking, and all types of sewing. She lived 46 years in Natick, Mass., where she was extremely active in coordinating community and church related activities. While raising her four children, she was a wonderful Girl Scout and Cub Scout Den leader and was always planning creative activities so the kids had fun learning. In 2004, she moved to Evansville. She was a member of DAR and The Honored Ladies (wives of Shriners) and donated her time, energy and arthritic hands to knitting and making quilts for church and hospital organizations. She loved spending time with her four Evansville grandchildren, and traveled to Colorado several times to visit her three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Dell was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William "Bill" D. Boyle; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, William D. Boyle, Jr., of Monument, Colo., and Thomas Kinkade (Lisa) Boyle, of Evansville, Ind.; daughters, Ann Louise (James) Rubino, of Prospect, Conn., and Jane Sergeant, of Monument, Colo.; grandchildren, Katherine Schimmel, Cassidy Hapke, Cassandra Sergeant, Craig, Scott and Tyler Rubino and Ashley, Emily, Connor and Austin Boyle; and great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Rylan Schimmel.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, 609 SE 2nd St., Evansville, Ind., officiated by Rev. Kevin Fleming. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
