Lois Alene Vickery Rickard
Boonville, Ind.
Our Mother, Lois Alene Vickery Rickard, went to be with her Lord March 18, 2014, at 1:40 p.m. She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Princeton, KY., to Fred & Pearl Ray. She was the oldest of six children.
She had five children, Ann Allen (Bob), Jack Vickery (Diane), Ron (Butch) Vickery (Bobbie), Linda Decker and Sharon Webster Wilder (Bill), all of Boonville;12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout Mom's life she had many jobs; one of her favorites was owning restaurants. She was an excellent cook. She was an awesome mom, grandma and great-grandma.
Lois was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; her first husband, Reuben Vickery; and her second husband, Chuck Rickard.
Lois has two surviving sisters, Ruth Ryan, of Princeton, KY, and Dorothy Holloway, of Hopkinsville, KY; as well as one brother, Leroy Ray, of New Zealand.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery Evansville, Ind. Friends may call Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Rev. Rob Allen, her grandson.
Memorial contributions in memory of Lois may be made to the Southside Baptist Church.
