Odonver "Don" Knight
Evansville, Ind.
Odonver "Don" Knight, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his home.
Don was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky on June 6, 1928 to the late Clyde N. and Maultie (Reynolds) Knight. He graduated from Hughes Kirk High School in Muhlenberg, Kentucky and attended University of Evansville. Don retired as a Quality Control Engineer and taught classes at Kentucky Tech for several years. Don was an active member of Faith Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and riding motorcycles. Don was also an artist, he painted and collected Indian folk art.
Don is survived by his wife of 6 years, Loraine (Wilhite) Schaffer Knight of Evansville, IN; daughter, Pamela (Mark) Majors of Evansville, IN; step daughter, Linda Karen (Herman) McMichael of Poseyville, IN; son, Kevin Knight of Evansville, IN; step sons, David Lee Schaffer of Petersburg, IN, Michael Ray (Teresa) Schaffer of Evansville, IN; sisters, Shirley Vandlandingham (Frank Stephans) of Eddyville, KY, Doris (Neil) Tucker of Morganfield, KY; grandchildren, Joshua Majors, Mallory Majors, Jordan David Schaffer, Dawn Ann Owsley (Monquale), Herman McMichael III, Kenneth Lee McMichael (Rosie), Katherine Grace Schaffer, Julie Catlin; several precious great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Mary; brother and sister-in-law, Hubert Knight (Bonnie).
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Cathy West officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon until service time on Wednesday.
