Martin Neighbors
Evansville, Ind.
Martin J. "Marty" Neighbors, 58, of Evansville, formerly of Murfreesboro, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was surrounded by loved ones and passed peacefully.
Marty worked as a sales manager throughout his career in several industries including automotive and general merchandise. He attended Reitz High School in Evansville and Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was an avid Harley rider and rode in all of the 48 contiguous states and parts of Canada. He also enjoyed camping, canoeing, music, movies and spending time with his friends and family.
Surviving are his daughter, Melody Lynn Neighbors, of Cortez, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Ashley Neighbors and son, Harold Sweeney, of Evansville, Ind.; his mother, Frances Neighbors, of Evansville; sisters, Marjorie Cox, of Evansville, Lola DeLaney, of Henderson, Mary Piersall, of Bloomfield, Ind., and Lori Grubb, of Chandler; three brothers, James, Mark and Michael Neighbors, all of Evansville; and grandchildren, Abigail and Ashton Neighbors, Gavin and Garett Sweeney, Morgan and Sophie Neighbors.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, James Neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
