Princeton, Ind.
Jerry B. Driskell, 83, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. He was born June 4, 1930 in Princeton, Ind., to Carl Clifford and Mildred Lucille (Byrne) Driskell.
He retired in 1994 after 41 years with Princeton, Contel, and G.T.E. Telephone Company. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1147, American Legion Post 25, Fraternal Order of Eagles #361, and Independent Telephone Pioneers Association. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War, where he earned The Bronze Star.
He is survived by his stepson, Donald R. Brown and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Brown, of Princeton, Ind.; grandchildren, Mrs. Diana Harris, Larry G. Brown, Jr., Mark A. Brown, and Amy M. Laird; and great-grandchild, Colin Laird.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois V. (Larkins) Driskell in 1994; his brother, Carl Jack Driskell; sister, Joann Driskell; and stepson, Larry G. Brown Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jonathan Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Retired Military Veterans will provide full military rites at the cemetery or at Colvin Funeral Home. Condolences may be made online at www.colvinfuneralhome.com.
