Richard Goad
Evansville, Ind.
Richard Goad, 90, of Evansville, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Golden Living Center Woodlands.
Richard was born August 18, 1923 in Evansville the son of the late Richard and Marguerite (Haley) Goad and attended Reitz Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII and was a member of the Army Reserves and VFW Post #1114. Richard was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. He retired from Bucyrus Erie and was a member of the 25 Year Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (Hayhurst) Goad, of Evansville; daughters, Elizabeth Kessler, of Evansville, and Rebecca Blankenship (Keith), and Donna DeWig (Dave), both of Mount Vernon, Ind.; son, Ronald Goad (Ruth), of Evansville; sister, Mary Fallen, of Evansville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anna Marie Kumar; and siblings, Margaret Knight and Robert Goad.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Nativity Catholic Church, 3635 Pollack Ave., Evansville with Father Henry Kuykendall officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville and again from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
