Evansville, Ind.
Alvera (Klenck) Reis, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Alvera was born January 3, 1926 in Wadesville, Ind., to the late Phillip and Florentine (Kramer) Klenck. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Reis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and together they resided in Evansville, Ind. Alvera was a homemaker, a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Kennel Club. She enjoyed playing clabber at the Shriner's once a month.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Reis; four sons, Mark Reis, Bruce (Kim) Reis, Luke (Deb) Reis and Matt (Marge) Reis, all of Evansville; grandsons, Kevin, Nathan and Kirk Reis and Brent Ritter; her best friend, Maggie Berendes; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alvera was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Klenck and Alvin Lurker.
Funeral services will begin Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Pierre Funeral Home, continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. Kenneth Herr officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4 p.m.
