Allie Kathryn McCoy, 88, of Evansville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2014.
Kathryn was born in Sheridan, KY (Crittenden County) to James Allie Porter and Lucy Mae (Damron) Porter. She was one of seven brothers and sisters.
She died peacefully at Newburgh Healthcare after a short illness.
She was a loving mother, daughter, wife and grandmother who was always generous with a smile. Kathryn was of the Christian faith and was saved and baptized in 1950. She was a generous person and always found the good in everyone. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was considered one of the favorite residents by the staff of Newburgh Health Care and she always had cookies for the staff to sample.
Surviving are sons, Steve McDaniel of Evansville and Norton McDaniel (Pat) of Nashville, TN; step-sons, Miles Don McDaniel (Nelda) of Paducah, KY and Billy McCoy of Janesville, WI; step-daughters, Barbara Scales of Panama City Beach, FL, Emma Nelson (Randal) of Evansville and Jane Mattingly (Mike) of Mt. Vernon, IN; grandson, Stevie McDaniel, Jr. (Tisha); granddaughter, Kelli McDaniel Lockwood of Decatur, AL and numerous step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Jourdan McDaniel of Evansville; great-grandsons, Cru McDaniel of Evansville and Spencer and Harrison Graham of Decatur, AL; sisters, Mary Lou (Porter) Wring of Crown Point, Shelby (Porter) Bradford of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law, Linda McDaniel of Lexington, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by husbands, James Willard McDaniel and Dennie H. McCoy; parents, James Allie and Lucy Mae (Damron) Porter; sons, Dennis McDaniel, James Brado McDaniel and step-son, Lonnie McCoy; sisters Mattie (Porter) Richards and Dorothy (Porter) Dockery; brothers, Willard Porter and Gene Porter and daughter-in-law, Pamela Altheide McDaniel.
A special thanks to the staff and owner of Newburgh Health Care. They provided not only good care but a good home for her during her stay and thanks to Heritage Hospice and the 5th floor section A staff at Gateway Deaconess Hospital for all of their kindness and care.
Funeral Services will be held at 7pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Tim Doss officiating. Entombment will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, service time, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
