Gary Joseph Butler
Evansville, Ind.
Gary "Joseph" Butler, 65, of Grayville, Ill., was called to heaven on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Gary was born in Evansville to Joseph Lawrence Butler and Margaret Peggy Ruth Butler, of Grayville, Ill.
Gary "Joseph", known by many friends as Joe, was a very skilled auto mechanic, gifted artistic craftsman and wood worker. He loved Schnauzers and rescued many of them, the latest, Schultz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Noah Ryan Butler.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Kerri Bowman and her husband, Stan, Kandy Bennett and her husband, Roy, both of Ponca City, Okla.; his son, Kristopher Butler and his wife, Joy "Diane", also of Ponca City; his twin brother, Larry Butler, of Grayville, Ill.; and his oldest brother, Thomas Butler, of Boise, Idaho. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cole and Shane Shelton, John, Jessica, Kristopher and Jason Butler, Baylee Rhea, Taylor Bennett; and one great-granddaughter, Caira Seward.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Patchwork Central Inc., 100 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN. 47713.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Patchwork Central.
