On the peaceful evening of Friday, July 11, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones, Eva Pfingston, 79, entered the Kingdom of Heaven to join her husband of 53 years and claim her eternal reward.
The family wishes to extend its profound gratitude to her caregiver and granddaughter, Dawn Clayton, whose kind heart and tender touch was with her every moment.
Eva was passionate about her family but even more so in her faith, serving her Savior from an early age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Ross and Anna Mae Cluck; her husband, Richard; and her granddaughter, Darlynne Meredith.
She is survived by her children, Sherry and Bob Clayton, Rick and Darla Pfingston, Bonnie Meredith, and Linda and Earl VanWinkle; grandchildren, Larry (Nikki) Clayton, Jeff (Dawn) Clayton, Troy (Nicole) Meredith, Dustin Kraft, Lindsey Pfingston, Ricky (Dixie) VanWinkle and Michael (Tamera) VanWinkle; and seven great-grandchildren, Colton, Morgan, Gage, April, Justus, Esme and Liam. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Delbert Pfingston and his wife, Erma. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Basil Embry officiating. Burial will be in Bates Hill Cemetery, Yankeetown.
