Alan D. Christman
Alan D. Christman, 75, of Evansville, Ind., passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Alan was born in Reading, Penn., on December 19, 1938 to the late Mary (Deem) and John D. Christman. He graduated from Brown University in Providence, R. I.
Alan served as a Naval Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired as a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch after 24 years of service. Alan loved reading, was an avid mathematician and enjoyed science. Alan enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball, especially his favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds. He also loved cats and telling jokes.
Alan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Hamer) Christman, of Evansville, Ind.; daughters, Linda Christman, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Andrea Weeks (Randy), of Inverness, Fla., Jill Cox (Damian), of Castle Rock, Colo.; brother, Richard Christman PhD. (Mary Ellen), of Niantic, Conn., and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Alan's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 301 SE First Street, Evansville, IN 47713 with Father Roger Walker celebrating. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium.
Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
