William "Bill" Paul Gates Sr.
Heilman, IN.
William Paul Gates Sr., 60, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, on Monday, July 21, 2014.
Bill was a member of Garrison Chapel Church in Heilman where he served as Trustee.
He worked at Alcoa for 24 years after being at Emge Packing Co. for 14 years.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and processing wild game, carpenter work, was known for his famous Bar-B-Que ribs, enjoyed horseback riding, being with family and grandkids and he enjoyed reading and teaching about the Bible.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gates Jr. and his mother, Rosalie Norum.
Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Evelyn Gates; son, William P. Gates Jr.; 2 daughters, Tara (Jon) Burgdorf and Tammy Poole (Daniel); 5 grandchildren, Ashley Bartley (Brent), Brayden, Cameron, Coulter & Jacob; 2 great grandchildren, Michael & Mileigh; 4 brothers, Rob (Pat), Bruce (Barb), Jerry (Mary) & Kenny (Connie) Gates; 1 sister, Linda (Will) Kerchief; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice and his nurse, Anna.
Funeral Service 5:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.
Friends may call from 12 Noon until service time Saturday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be made to Garrison Chapel Church.
