Janice E. Humphrey
Janice E. (Forney) Humphrey, 69, of Evansville, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was born February 1, 1945 in Evansville to Paul and Helen (Luehring) Forney. After graduating from Bosse High School in 1963, she attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, where she was a member of Delta Gamma and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Janice was a math teacher at North High School for 43 years, retiring in 2010. Her memberships included TRI KAPPA, the Retired Teachers Association and the Evansville chapter of PEO.
She and her husband, Donald, began their favorite pastime, boating, when they purchased their first houseboat in 1978. They and their family greatly enjoyed the many times they were together out on the water.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Donald; sons, Robert "Bob" Paul Humphrey (Mindy) and Christopher Mark Humphrey (Leslie); sister, Pamela Bourff (Jeffrey); and six grandchildren, Seth, Joel, Caleb and Aaron Humphrey and Cooper and Jackson Humphrey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Forney in 1965; and her mother, Helen Forney in 2009.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.
A private graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Evansville, with Pastor Jeff Crowe officiating.
