Donald Harris, Sr.
Evansville, Indiana
Donald Harris, Sr., 63, of Evansville passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice. He was born April 24, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA to Robert Earl and Idella (Williamson) Harris.
Donald was a gymnast while in high school. He served active duty in the US Marine Corps and 10 years in the Reserves.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Daniel Williamson and G.E. Williamson and niece, Chantell Harris.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Virginia Harris; step daughter, Yonnie Whorry; son, Donald Harris, Jr. all of Evansville; daughter, Jennifer White (Joseph, Jr.) of King George, VA; son, Daniel Harris (Dana) of Evansville; grandchildren; Yvonne Whorry, India Jackson, Ebony Whorry, Ja'Sean Harris, Isaiah Harris, Joseph White, Jr., Jocelia White and Jaleah White; brother, Robert Earl Harris; sister, Mary Ann Harris both of Philadelphia, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710 and will continue from 10:00 - 11:00 am Thursday.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Thursday August 21, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Anisa Evans officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery where the Marine Corps League will conduct graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess VNA Plus Hospice, 610 E. Walnut St., Evansville, IN 47713.
