Joyce C. Guinn
Joyce M. Guinn, 74, of Newburgh, Ind., went home to be with the Lord at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Newburgh Healthcare.
Joyce was born January 23, 1940 in Evansville the daughter of the late Reuben and Helen (Payne) Heston. Joyce was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for many years and attended American Baptist East for the last three years. Joyce retired from Target after 34 years of service. She was an avid reader and loved shopping with her daughters. Joyce belonged to the Ladies Canasta Card Club and she volunteered at the food pantry in Newburgh. Joyce and Mickey enjoyed vacationing with their family and she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nursing staffs at Deaconess Gateway, Heritage Hospice and Newburgh Health Care.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Macon (Mickey) Guinn, of Newburgh, Ind.; daughters, Ginger Courtney (Robin), of Evansville, and Kelly Land (Michael), of Jasper, Ind.; sisters, Mary Porter (Steve), of Okeechobee, Fla., and Shirley Helmrich, of Evansville; grandchildren, Brock Courtney (Selena) and Whitney Land-Sermersheim (Chad) and Kasey Land.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend Maurice Melton officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
