George Derner Obituary
Merrillville, Ind.
George Derner, 80, of Henderson, Nev., passed away September 9, 2012. He was born on March 28, 1932, to the late George and Anabel Derner in East Chicago, Ind. He was formerly of Merrillville, Ind.
George was a retired Civil Engineer with Harza Engineering in Chicago. He was in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Korea. Graduated from Indiana University and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol (Niedhammer) Derner; brother-in-law, Donald Niedhammer, of Cynthiana; niece, Elizabeth Niedhammer, of Evansville; nephew, Cameron Niedhammer, of Haubstadt; great-niece, Jessica Volz, of Elberfeld; and great-nephew, Chris Niedhammer, of Aurora, Ill.
Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery, 6400 Oak Hill Rd, Evansville.
