C. Morris Coffman, 78, of Madisonville, Ky., passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville.
He was born December 21, 1933, in Providence, Ky., to the late Clarence and Bonnie Cole Coffman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby on September 24, 2008; and one brother, Norris Coffman
Mr. Coffman had served as CEO and Board President of Farmers Bank in Madisonville, Ky., which later became Old National Bank, he was on the Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, past president of the Madisonville Chamber of Commerce, attended Grapevine Baptist Church, was a graduate of Providence High School, served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves, he was a member of Madisonville Country Club, and was active in several Hopkins County Civic Clubs.
He is survived by two nephews, Phil (Connie) Coffman, of Diamond, Ky., and Richard (Jane) Farmer,of Jasper, Ind.; one niece, Dawn (Rick) Farley, of Diamond; three great-nephews, Adam Coffman, of Providence, and Evan and Noah Farmer, of Jasper; one great-niece, Brooke Farmer, of Houston, Texas; his close friend, Sandra Bell, of Madisonville; and his dog, Jake.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow in Lisman Cemetery in Webster County, Ky.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday November 8, 2012, and after 9 a.m. until the service time on Friday at the funeral home.
