Florine F. Arnold Rhew, 94, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Columbia Healthcare Center.
Florine had worked as a waitress at Weinbach's Cafeteria at the corner of St. Joseph Ave. and Franklin Street. She was also a seamstress and had made beautiful clothing, especially for her children. Florine was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was a cat lover.
Surviving Florine are two daughters, Vonnie (Bill) Harding, of Tell City, Ind., and Debbie (Kirk) Pruden, of Evansville; a son, Dell (Corine) Arnold, of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Connie Rhew, of Evansville; and one stepson, Tony Rhew, of Evansville; and a sister, Ruby Pendley, of Morgantown, Ky. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Arnold; second husband, Raymond Rhew; daughter, Mae Saltzman; brothers, Paul and Jay Beliles; and stepsons, Alan and Keith Rhew.
Funeral services for Florine will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler, Ind.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
