Bertha Helen (Jones) Moore
Evansville, Ind.
Bertha Helen (Jones) Moore, 93, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Heritage Center.
Helen was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on December 12, 1919 to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Alder) Jones. She worked as a cook at St. Vincent Day Care and retired after nine years. Helen was a member of the Ladies of Charity, St. Josephs Catholic Church Quilting Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Violet Hawes of Ocean Springs, MS; Joyce Pollock of Franklin, IN; Phyllis Hill of Evansville, IN; Marsha (Chuck) Adams of Owensboro, KY; Donna Lamey of Evansville, IN; Linda (Steve) Daugherty of Evansville, IN; Margaret (Larry) Davis of Harvest, AL and Cynthia (Rick) Snodgrass of Evansville, IN; sons, CW Moore of Evansville, IN; Leslie (Joy) Moore of Picayune, MS; Wayne Moore of Evansville, IN; Marlon (Marty) Moore of Evansville, IN and Tony Moore of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Louise Davis of Cave City, KY and Noreen Sellers of Harrisburg, PA; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Burney Obie Moore; her daughter, Rebecca Moore; her son, David Moore; her sister, Goldie Abel; her brother, Elmer Jones; and by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 8, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 North 1st Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710 with Father Jay Davidson celebrating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 and from 9:00 AM until Mass time on Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
