William John "Bill" Ritzert, 83, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Bill was born in Evansville, Indiana, on August 28, 1929 to Carl and Cora (Ising) Ritzert. He attended St. Benedict's Grade School, Tarpon Springs High School, Florida Southern College, Lane Drafting and Evansville College. Bill was an U.S. Army Korean War Veteran serving in the Military Police. Bill was a 55 year member of Carpenter's Local #90 and retired from Emge Packing. He was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Other memberships include Germania Maennerchor, River Bend Association and he enjoyed playing in the city Clabber League.
Bill is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Anna (Bayer) Ritzert of Evansville, IN; three daughters, Elaine Ritzert of Evansville, IN, Cathy Ritzert of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jane (Mike) Mulherin of Newburgh, IN; son, Greg Ritzert of Princeton, IN; sister, Jean Johnson of Evansville, IN; and eight grandchildren
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Ritzert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will be held at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by Retired Veterans Memorial Club.
Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
