Mary Louise Callahan Patrick, 98, passed away April 17, 2013, at Transcendent Healthcare in Boonville.
She was born in Raquette Lake, N.Y., on January 4, 1915, to the late Thomas and Mildred (Cox) Callahan.
Mary attended the Raquette Lake Union School in 1931. She then enrolled in the College of New Rachelle from which she graduated in 1935, with a BA degree in education. She taught English for two years and was then married to Arthur Patrick on April 22, 1939.
Mary was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Rockport American Legion Auxiliary Post #254. She was an avid animal activist.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Arthur Patrick in 1998; daughters, Gail Patrick and Mary L. Blythe; and a son, Gary Patrick.
Surviving are sons, Larry Patrick; of Kansas City, Mo., and Paul Patrick, of Dale, Ind.; grandchildren, Tom Patrick, Libby Small, Gary Michael Patrick, Missy Madison and Bill Patrick; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her dear friends, Bob and Cathy Flora, of Dale, Ind.; and her beloved dog, Bunny.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Old Forge, N.Y. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
