He was a graduate of Mater Dei High School in Evansville, Indiana and the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Bruce was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Bruce was a great friend and mentor. Words cannot express how much I miss him. He was one of the only bosses I had that was supportive of me going back to school and moving to colorado from NC. He even helped us find our first house here. We stayed in touch even after the move and talked frequently through emails. I'm very sorry for your loss and his family is still in our thoughts.

I am sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. I worked with Bruce for a short time, and had many good conversations about his girls whom he seemed so proud of, and his wife and her endless patience with him and the many "lazy dogs" as he called them and the long and relaxing hours on his boat. Bruce was never short of being able to tell a story. He had a story for a story. His years of travel in the Navy in the Middle East were always fascinating to those who sat and listened. I lost touch with Bruce after he left CSC, but recently reached out via Linked in to say Hi... It was during this email exchange in which he shared his new struggle. While dire, it seemed as if he had a high confidence in his future... alas it was not to be... I can only hope that his wife and daughters are comforted in the fact that he seemed to always make a friend and had many that cared for him..

Mrs. Harrod I'm very sorry for the loss of Mr. Harrod. I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. and Mrs. Harrod while he was getting treatment for his pulmonary problems at Carolina Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic. He was by far my favorite patient. And I tried my best to make sure everything was taken care of for him and his wife within the last few months. Your family is in my prayers.

Though we only knew him briefly, we found him to be a very caring individual, with a agreat sense of humor and a friendly and cheerful disposition. He was kind and considerate. We feel blessed for having known him even for a short while. He was certainly too young to be called to his rest and that makes it even harder to bear. We offer our deepest sympaty and condolences to his family and share your loss. We pray that loving memories of Bruce will remain with you always and comfort you during your darkest hours of pain and grief.

As I close out my fathers estate today, I find it ironic that I also saw this obituary. I don't know Bruce Alan Harrod, but after reading his obituary, I am confident he will find a great friend with much in common up there in heaven. My daddy wen to heaven January 10, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Idiopatihic Pulmonary Fibrosis. My father loved the shore and spent much of his childhood around boats and enjoyed them throughout life. he incorporated the boating life into paintings and collections. My heart breaks for those of you left behind, but know that your Bruce will enjoy fun times in heaven with my daddy, Edward, (Ned) Snyder. Prayers for you all.

Bruce, you were always a kind friend, a gentle soul. I am always going to think of you as if you were on your boat with your lovely wife, trailing the intercoastal. Not as if you will never grace my presence again with your funny stories one day soon as we bump into each other. Sail on my friend. My heart is heavy for your family that have lost you.
