Joseph H. Hudson, age 89, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his home.
Joe was born February 10, 1924 in Louisville, KY. He worked in the service department at Sears and had been retired since 1986. He had a lifelong love of trains and one of his first jobs was working for the L & N Railroad cleaning and painting the engines. He collected model train engines for over 50 years. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II, serving at the Battle of the Bulge/Ardennes Forest in the European Theatre with the 75th Division.
Surviving Mr. Hudson are his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Hudson; three daughters, Dottie Martin, Dolores (Larry) Ellington, Regina Coomes and two sons, Donald Hudson and Jon (Natalie) Wright, all of Evansville; grandchildren, Corry (Pam) Martin, Joe Ellington, Keesha Ellington, Mac Linville, Tyler, Brooklyn, and Hailey Wright and great grandchildren, Shania, Tighe, Kaylie and Mykaella Martin.
Funeral services for Joe will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Evansville ARC, 615 W. Virginia Street, Evansville, IN.
