Evansville, Ind.
Samuel G. Eickhoff, 70, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Eickhoff had been an employee of Whirlpool for over 40 years before his retirement. He was a former member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Sam lived by the motto, "Help others whenever possible and when you can't get out of the way."
Surviving Sam are three daughters, Laura Smith, of Evansville, Trish Greenwell, of Owensville, and Ame Eickhoff, of Chicago, Ill.; a son, Dyrk Eickhoff, of Evansville; two sisters, Kotzie Minor and Mary Ann Damm, both of Evansville, and five brothers, Donald Eickhoff, Alan Eickhoff, Darrell Eickhoff, Patrick Eickhoff and Michael Eickhoff. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kasey and Kara Eickhoff, Amber Watson, Allen and Lauren Burse, Dalton, Grant and Cole Greenwell and Jayden Eickhoff; and six great-grandchildren, Kile, Kody, Laken, Madden, Kaden and Xavier.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard "Butch" and Catherine (Moran) Eickhoff and two sisters, Barbara Goldsworthy and Shirley Tompkins.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. David Nunning officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 8 p.m. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
