Arthur J. Hart, 91, of Evansville, IN was blessed with heaven on Tuesday at 3:34 AM on December 3, 2013 at home surrounded by family.
Art was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 27, 1921 to the late Manford and Elizabeth (Braun) Hart. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He retired from Emge Meat Packing Company, then drove a school bus for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation for many years. Art was a former leader of the Star 4-H Club and was a longtime farmer in Vanderburgh County.
Art is survived by his daughters, Beverly Racine (Jerry), Linda Puertzer (Jim) and Darlene Welte (Mike); favorite daughter-in-law, Jo Anne Hart-Furniss (Ed), all of Evansville, IN; 14 grandchildren, Krista Newmaster (Mark), Jerry Robin Racine (Kim), Jeremy Racine (Jill), Beth Douglas (Jeff), Heidi Smith (Craig), Ryan Hart (Brooke), Jon Hart (Heidi), Matthew Welte (Rachel), Mark Welte (Katie), Julie Patterson (Matt), Kadee Hemmer (Kevin) and Ward Furniss (Heather) and 21 great grandchildren.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years, Martha M. (Schulz) in 1996, son, Darrell Arthur Hart in 1988 and a grandson, Jerry Von Racine in 1966.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1925 Volkman Road Evansville, IN 47725 with Rev. Kirk Horstmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 1:30 PM until service time on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
