Melba Elvira Neville, 83, of Evansville, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Elvira was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born November 29, 1930, in Honduras, and came to the United States to Evansville, Indiana, where she worked at Mead Johnson. She met her husband, Paul, at a dance, they married, raised their family in Evansville, where they worked side by side and owned and operated Neville's IGA grocery store and worked in the apartment business. Elvira enjoyed spending time with her husband and friends where they traveled and had many fun adventures. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elvira loved gardening.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Paul Neville, of Evansville; sons, Cecil Neville II (Michele), Paul Neville II (Vicki) and James Neville (Theresa), all of Evansville; grandchildren, Stevie (Denise), Kelly, Christopher (Kyle), Cecil III, Alexander, Michael, Elizabeth, Paul III, Benjamin, Gabriel, James II, Jonathan, Justin and Jaclyn; great-grandchildren, Emma and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Maria Montano; and son, Stephen Neville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, and again from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
