Walter Acton Obituary
Evansville, Ind.
Walter A. Acton, 85, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014. He was born June 11, 1928 to Walter and Mary (Brothers) Acton.
Walter served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He retired from Whirlpool after 45 years as an inspector. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a lifetime member of VFW Post 1114 and a member of the Eagles.
He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Carolyn Brown; son, Byron Acton, of Evansville; daughter, Jill Colette Acton Brown (Brian), of Evansville; grandchildren, Kelsey and Gavin Brown; sister, Alma Jean Senn.
He is preceded by his wife, Mary L. Acton; son, Thomas Acton; brothers, Elwood Acton, Kenneth Acton and Herman Acton; sisters, Pauline McGraw, Betty Romero, Dorothy Meyers, Louise Phelps and Tressa Briody.
Private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery with Fr. Phil Kreilein and Larry Jamison officiating. Ziemer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5250 Vogel Rd., Evansville, IN 47715.
