Evansville, Indiana
Mildred Goodman, 94, of Evansville, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. The Matriarch of six living generations has gone home to be with the Lord. She was born October 17, 1919, in Evansville, to the late George Frank and Edith (Werzner) Thorpe.
She was in a Bunco Club for 60 years and enjoyed playing poker. She loved sports, playing on an all-women's fast pitch softball team in the 40's, and enjoyed bowling. She loved her family and was a member of Spottsville Community Church.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Raymond "Skin" Goodman, on September 12, 2002; parents; brothers, Oscar "Bud" and Frank "Frankie" Thorpe; and sister, Marjorie "Tetsie" Thorpe.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherian Fulcher; grandchildren, Vickie Render, Larry (Kathy) Stofleth; Donald Thomas; Roy Piper, Jr. and Randy Piper; 11 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Osborne, with burial in Tupman Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

I am sorry for your loss, Millie and I worked together at Sears in the sporting goods department. I have a lot of good memories of us working together. She took care of me like a mother. I am sorry I was out of town during the service.

To the family of Millie--
My mother and I wish to express our sincere sympathy to all of you upon Millie's passing. Millie was across the hall and a table mate at WR . At Fall Festival time, Millie shared a brain sandwich with me and I brought her some divinity!!
She always talked with us at meals. I sat between her and my mother whenever I was in town. May she rest in peace in the eternal light of Our Lord and Savior.
