Harry S. Hales, Sr., 74, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Evansville, IN passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
He was a native of Evansville, IN, a veteran of the US Army and owner of Harry's Transmission Service on First Avenue in Evansville for over 30 years, where many a friend gathered socially to have a double cola & a smoke.
He created and sang lead in the We "R" Country band with which he performed throughout Southwest Florida. He loved racing his sprint car & playing racquetball back in the day, fishing at Barkley Lake or any fishing hole he came upon & he loved hanging out with his family and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, McAtee Hales; mother, Geneva Gunn Hales; his wife of over 45 years, Joyce Thomas Hales. Survivors include his son, Sid Hales and wife Sharon, of Paducah, KY; several half siblings, friend, Joyce Feasel of Ft. Myers, FL; & 3 grandchildren, Jake Hales, Natalie Hagan and Alex Hagan.
