Eugene 'Gene' G. Latham II
Eugene "Gene" G. Latham II, 89, passed away May 10, 2014, surrounded by his family in his home.
He was a 1942 graduate of Central High School and attended Indiana University where he was active in the Acacia Fraternity. In his early years, Gene worked for Orr Iron Co., Smith & Butterfield and later worked for Atlas Office Supplies as a sales representative. He was an avid pool player and supported the Arthritis Foundation by winning the City Pool Championship in 1987. He was a member of the Elks Club and the C-Men's Booster Club.
Gene was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha (Wilson) Latham.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rosemary (Norbury) Latham, of Evansville, Ind.; four daughters, Anne (Richard) Wanderman, of Warren, Conn., Margaret (Greg) Bosse, Elizabeth "Betsy" Latham and Mary (Bill) Weeks, of Bloomington, Ind.; son, Eugene "Buzz" (Brenda) Latham, of Evansville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Darling, Bonnie Darling, Scott Bosse, Ben (Danielle) Bosse, Courtney Bosse, Whitney Matveia, Leighton Newmann, Meredith (Jake) Pancake, Elliot Latham and Joseph, John and Joanna Weeks; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Connie) Latham and Michael Latham, of Evansville, Ind.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
