Hazel DeArmond Obituary
Evansville, Ind.
Hazel F. DeArmond, 97, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 8:25 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Hazel was born March 16, 1917 in Gibson County, Ind., the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Montgomery. She was a 1935 graduate of Central High School and a graduate of Lockyear Business College. Hazel worked for 38 years for the Salvation Army in various capacities, including as a social worker.
She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Littell (Johnny Joe), of Newburgh, Ind.; sons, Keith DeArmond (Pam), of Escondido, Calif., and Reginald DeArmond (Jan), of Evansville; sister, Jeannie Franz, of Pennsylvania, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rice Clifton DeArmond, in 1975; sons, Stanley DeArmond and Thomas DeArmond; grandson, Thomas Clifton DeArmond; three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Major David Minks officiating.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home.
Private Graveside Services will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville.
