MASTERS, SCOTT WILLIAM
I only have a picture now, a frozen piece of time, To remind me of how it was, when you were here and mine. I see your smiling eyes, each morning when I wake. I talk to you and place a kiss upon your lovely face. How much I miss you being here, I really cannot say, The ache is deep inside my heart, and never goes away. I hear it mentioned often, that time will heal the pain. But if I'm being honest, I know it will remain. I need to feel you constantly to get me through the day, I love you so very much, why did you go away? The angels came and took you, that wasn't really fair. They took my one and only Son. My future life. My heir. If only they had asked me, if I could take your place I would have done so willingly, leaving you this world to grace. You should have had so many years, to watch your life unfold. And in the midst of this, watch me, your Mom, grow old. I know you're watching from above, at the daily tasks I do. And let there be no doubt at all, How much I do love you...... Forever in our hearts Mom, Elan and your Little Boy Austin

MATEN, Tony
MATEN, Tony March 27, 1931 - November 17, 2014 With great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Tony Maten announces his recent passing. Tony is survived by his wife Mabel of 57 years, his daughter Carolyn (Bruce), son Alan (Rona), 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Tony was predeceased by his grandson Derek in 2012. Tony moved to Canada in 1955 and quickly made Port Alberni his home. He raised his family there and had his business Alpine Woodcraft until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, both saltwater and freshwater. He was also a great community volunteer, both with soccer, softball and the Cherry Creek Fire department. He was a volunteer fireman with Cherry Creek for 30+ years until his retirement as Fire Chief (1977-1983). He moved to Kelowna in 1991 where he resided until his death. We are very saddened to lose our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, but we know he is casting a line with his grandson up in heaven.
