BROWN, Richard George Francis . Passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Monday, January 27, 2014. . Richard was born to the late Richard and Margaret Fanny Brown on October 2, 1923 in Cadomin, Alberta (second baby born in Cadomin). He was predeceased by his loving wife Caroline Iris in 1991; his son Richard Edward in 2004 and his sisters: Marjore, Betty, Evelyn and Doreen. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his companion of 22 years, Mary Jane Brown; grandchildren: Sheri (Todd) Oberg, Lori Ann Stafford, Brenda Stafford and Dave (Susan) Stafford; great grandchildren: Desiree Wilson, Chelsi, Adalia and Axton Winter and Jeffrey Stafford; also his best friend of many years, Rick Smith. Richard spent his first 25 years in Cadomin working, hunting, and fishing. He was a mine foreman, and forest ranger. He trained to be a paratrooper during the second world war. He moved to Port Alberni in 1966 and loved our salmon fishing. He worked for 20 years for M&B Franklin River as a blaster, 1st Aid Man and service truck driver. . To us he was someone special Someone set apart His memory will live forever Engraved within our hearts. . There will be no service at Richard's request.
