Jernie B. "JB" Deese, 79, of Baker, died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Andalusia, Ala., to the late Franklin A. and Nancy A. (Morrison) Deese. He was a resident of the area for 19 years, moving there from Bartow.
JB worked for 30 years as a tire re-capper at Davis Bandag in Lake Hamilton. He was a member of Milligan Assembly of God. He was a gentle, loving man who enjoyed NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, fishing and football, and gardening was his passion. He loved his family unconditionally and will be missed deeply by everyone who knew him.
His brothers, Andrew and Earl Gene Deese, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Nancy M. Deese; son, Darrel Jay Deese and his wife, Lee Anne of Auburndale; daughter, Lisa L. Gill and her husband, Danny, of Lake Wales; stepdaughter Rachel Bulman and her husband, Jason, of Lakeland; stepsons, Michael Aycock of Auburndale and Mark Aycock of Lakeland; sisters, Beatrice Spence and Jewel Boutwell, both of Crestview, and Pat Beasley and husband Winston of Baker; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at Brackney Funeral Service chapel, Crestview, with interment at Beda Baptist Church Cemetery in Wing, Ala.
