Katie May Taylor, age 85, of Holt, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 in Pensacola. Katie was born May 16, 1928 to Elmer Milton Ward and Rosetta May Ward in LaGloria, Cuba. She resided in Cuba until 1945, at which time her parents relocated to Limona, Fla.
She was employed at Monsanto Corporation as a drawtwist operator and retired in May 1983. After her retirement she relocated to Holt, where she enjoyed retirement with her husband, Cecil M. Taylor.
Her daughter, Cynthia May Britt (Bennie); three grandchildren, Robert D. Parker, Virginia L. Parker and James A. Parker; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Ward (Betty) of Brandon, and Frederick Ward of Tampa; and sister, Elizabeth A. Shows of Gadsden, Ala., survive her.
Her parents, Elmer Milton and Rosetta May Ward, and brother, Milton Elmer Ward, preceded Katie in death.
Graveside services begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery, with Minister Joel Davis officiating.
