Oscar David Dreading, 66, of Crestview, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. David was born July 30, 1947.

David served in the United States Navy. He then worked for the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners for 30 years before retiring.

His parents, John Sr. and Mae Dreading, his brother, John Dreading Jr., and an angel baby precede him in death.

Survivors are his wife, Sarah Dreading, brother, Malcolm Dreading, daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffannie and Lex Morrill and Rebekah and Timothy Linton, and sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford Dreading and Jasmine Lewis and Christopher Dreading.

He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Tony and Chrystan Scott, Mercedez and Isabelle Linton, Alysa Sheets, Kyndall and Lex Morrill III, and Destyn, Austin, and Jadyen Dreading; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

David was a wonderful father and grandfather. He always had time for his grandchildren, from babysitting to picking them up and dropping them off at sports practices.

He recently reaffirmed his faith in Christ, and because of this he knew that he would be welcomed by not only his waiting family, but the Lord as well.

A family memorial was at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Brackney Funeral Service, which was in charge of the arrangements.
